About Me

I am currently based in North Norfolk and have been a self-employed artist for eighteen years.

I love to draw wildlife, insects, etc., but especially birds. I try to capture a feeling of movement within my art and intentionally leave space within the work, so that it looks as though they have wandered across the paper.

I use pencil, drawing pens and Acrylic inks on watercolour paper to achieve my original pieces. Inks help me produce vibrant paintings with the freedom to show brushstrokes and expression within the painting. I love how the inks can be layered whilst retaining their brightness.

I have a degree in Scenography (Theatre Design!) from Bretton Hall, and spent the early part of my career working in the creative industry. I have been lucky enough to work worldwide on museums and visitor attractions as a prop-master and scenic painter, whilst closer to home I've worked on theatrical sets and film. I am a qualified Art Therapist and have a Masters in Art Psychotherapy Practice through Leeds Beckett University. I am registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and a full member of BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists). I have worked with a range of individuals, including adults, children and families within residential settings, mental health services, CAMHS and schools. I have an up to date enhanced DBS.

I love the outdoors, nature and the sea and you can often find me exploring the beach with my family and our rescue dog, Martha.
